John Mayer, lahir pada tanggal 16 Oktober 1977 di Bridgeport, Connecticut, Amerika Serikat. Dia belajar gitar pada umur 13 tahun, dan setelah 2 tahun bermain gitar dia mulai manggung di Bar dan panggung-panggung di dekat rumahnya. John Mayer merupakan lulusan dari BerkleeUniversity di Boston, Massachusetts, Amerika Serikat pada umurnya yang ke-19 tahun. Setelah lulus, John Mayer pindah ke Atlanta, Georgia, Amerika Serikat untuk memulai karir musiknya dan dia mengeluarkan album pertamanya yang berjudul Inside Wants Out pada tahun 1999, hingga saat ini John Mayer telah mempunyai beberapa album.
